Exceptional craftsmanship is displayed in this airy openwork pendant from circa mid-century France. At the center is a depiction of the grotto at Massabielle where Bernadette can be seen kneeling before the Virgin in the grotto. The scene is wonderfully encircled by anciently inspired twisted rope frame.

The medal is fabricated in silver alloy and has subtle patina that accentuates the details. Diameter is 1 1/2 inches. The fancy bail with raised-beads will accept the chain of your choice, as well as a silk or leather cord.
