Form scallop or wavy patterned wire shapes without the need for an expensive hydraulic press. All you need is some soft non-ferrous wire (copper, brass, silver, etc.), a weighted brass or rawhide mallet, and a Ring & Hoop Forming Press. Each press consists of two interlocking solid steel halves and a steel collar with keyway that surrounds them. Choose one of several patterns or combine patterns for more interest. Create hoops or other shapes within a range of diameters from 1/2" (13 mm) to 1-3/8" (36 mm). Each press is 1-7/8" (46.8 mm) high by 2" (49.7 mm) in diameter. Made in India.

Bend a length of soft wire into a circle, square or another shape with a maximum width of 1-3/8". The shape can be soldered or left open.
Slide one of the press halves into best the collar with the post aligned in the keyway of the collar and the design face up.
Center your wire shape inside the press.
Slide the upper half of the press onto the lower half.
Strike the press several times with a medium weight hammer - we recommend brass or weighted rawhide, but most any non-steel hammer will work.
